I hope Joan’s soul rests in great peace, what this very beautiful little girl went through shouldn’t happen to anyone and especially our children. since I saw Joan’s case this touched me a lot, I’ve been dreaming about her always and I’m happy for that, even though I don’t know her I know she must be an extremely lovely girl so difficult to meet.

i have just read joan in an issue of thats life true crime. no matter how many times i read about such times i feel so sorry for the familes who have children no matter how old they are taken from them. no one deserves to have that done to them be it a child or a parent lossing a child. i must say that i’m glad the perpratrator has died in prison and wasnt allowed to take another life. i fully support Rosemarie in fighting to protect further children from the likes of McGowan.

I have just become aware of Joan’s story and the amazing work you, and your sons, have all undertaken.
I cannot begin to imagine what the experience of losing your beloved child has been like for you. I cried as I read the details and I am sure you have shed millions of tears in the years since, but much more than that you have taken your tragedy and turned it into something so inspirational and meaningful.
Love, I believe, will ALWAYS triumph over evil. Your faith in God is a great example to us all and I commend you for being so brave.
There will come a day when you will be reunited with Joan in Heaven and all the pain, hardship, loss and suffering will cease. What a glorious day that will be!

I read about Joan’s story from John Douglas’ book and was touched deeply. I am a correctional officer at a men’s maximum-security prison, and every day I face the worst of the worst. I want to say thank you for the work you have done for the families that men like them have hurt and ripped apart. Joan is in my thoughts every day, and I hope she watches over me every day when I enter those gates.

Hi. I knew Joanie because my grandmother lived next to hers in Yonkers and I would play with her when you visited. Even after all these years, I still remember the shock of my mom telling me she was missing and then, ultimately, found. As a mom myself, I thank you for having the strength to work to make the law better for all children and I’m happy that monster could never leave prison alive. Please keep up the good work-you are truly making a difference in the lives of children you will never even meet. Just wanted you to know I still remember your sweet girl❤️
