After hearing about Joan’s story, I really believe, like St. Maria Goretti, Joan was an innocent who suffered. I also believe she is in heaven singing joyfully with the angels. Thank you, Mrs. D’Alessandro for telling us her story and helping to pass laws to protect our children. I will keep you in my prayers and ask Joan to pray for me.
Gratefully,

Dear Rosemarie,
I just became aware of Joan’s story through John Douglas’ book. As a retired elementary school teacher, I am profoundly ashamed and saddened that someone in my profession could do such a horrible thing to an innocent little girl. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child and I sincerely hope that your memories of happier times bring you and the rest of your family some comfort. I applaud your commitment to keeping other children safe and I’m sure that Joan’s spirit is watching over you and is eternally proud of your dedication to her memory. Wishing you peace and the hope that you will be reunited with your precious little girl someday!
Love from Bill

Hello,
My name is Aslana. I grew up in Hillsdale a street off of St. Nick. Growing up as a girl scout in Hillsdale, Joan’s story has always stayed with me my entire life. I’m so thankful for how you’ve fought so hard to have made Hillsdale a safer place for me to grow up and protected so many others. Your fight for Joan has always inspired me. Thank you for all you do, and all you’ve done. 🙂 <33

This is my second signing in…I’m a new grandfather to a lovely granddaughter(Ella). I can’t help but think of Joan when I think of Ella’s safety and how important it is to cherish each moment. What you are doing needs to be scene by a broader audience for awareness. Other than donating, what else can I do?

Hello family,
I just heard about Joan’s story while listening to John Douglas’s “The Killer Across the Table” book. As a mother, advocate, and pre-law grad student – I can say this story struck my heart the most of any other story from Mr. Douglas’s books thus far. What a sweet soul Joan clearly was and continues to be as the ever-present butterflies which bring you peace. I am so proud of you and your hard work to make Joan’s story one of valiance and overcoming in the end. That is so powerful and encouraging. I laud you and wish we had more hearts like yours to fight the good fight of true “justice” which is actually helping prevent future crimes and educate communities. I hope to stay involved and support.
